Young Dons win Hartley Wintney 6s
With many unavaiable due to school commitments the U13s took the title at the Hartney Wintney President's Day. They started by winning their first match against the hosts on the last ball of the innings in a low scoring match, with Josh Wise hitting the required four.
The second game against Bagshott was a little more one sided, with Henry Glanfield and Aidan Grimes (guesting from Liphook) both hitting 25 retired; the Dons finishing on 71 in the 5 overs. The highest score in the tournament was too much for Bagshott.
Unfortunatley, the U13s came unstuck against Basingstoke, losing by half a dozen runs. However, Basingstoke had lost to Hartney Wintney, so it came down to the scores in the throwing and bowling tests. Here it was the injured Guy Mullins who was the star, hitting the wickets 3 times in his over. The young Dons did enough to win the cup by one point over Hartney Wintney. A very enjoyable day.
