3rds win 3 out of 3 to finish the season in style

Hambledon III vs Ampfield, 17th August 2013

On a cold rainy day at East Meon the skipper wins the toss and invites bottom of the league Ampfield to bat. After 35.3 overs Ampfield were all out for 107 thanks to some tidy bowling on a helpful wicket with the main destroyer being Wayne Norman (10 overs, 5 for 25). The rain fell steadily during the Dons reply reducing the required runs to 74 off 25 overs. Tim Rogers promoted up the order to finish the game as quickly as possible bludgeoned a superb 48 not out and the Dons won in only 9.1 overs by 10 wickets.

Hambledon III vs Fareham III, 24th August 2013

Another toss won by the skipper and again the opposition were invited to bat on a good batting track at Bath Lane. Fareham posted 244 for 4 off their 42 overs and Jack Dyer was the pick of the bowlers with 7 overs, 1 for 18. Hambledon chased down the target with 9 overs to spare at 246 for 6. Charlie Thompson hitting 63 on début, Matt Radford 55 and a superb partnership of 45 between Lewis LeClercq (17*) and Wayne Norman (32*) to see the Dons home.

Hambledon III vs Old Hambledonians 31st August 2013

The final game of the season and the skipper wins the toss again and decides to bat first on a dry Broadhalfpenny Down wicket. At 63 for 1 off only 9 overs it was looking like a good call (Jon Bridgman out for 37). Wickets started to fall regularly but Jack Dyer continued to bat serenely. A partnership of 73 between Jack and Kyle Shinn (33) followed by a partnership of 65 between Jack and Lewis LeClercq (43) put the game beyond doubt and Hambledon posted 268 for 9 off their 42 overs. Jack Dyer scoring his maiden century (103) for Hambledon!!

Old Hambledonians managed 115 all out in reply and the Dons won by a massive 153 runs. All of the bowlers sharing the wickets, but the day (and the match ball) belonged to Jack Dyer!!
