Junior Cricket at Hambledon
Hambledon Cricket Club provides cricket coaching for boys and girls aged between 6 and 18 years. We also give them the opportunity to represent the club in competitive cricket matches in the South East Hants Cricket League. All coaching is undertaken by qualified coaches who have been DBS checked to ensure their suitability for working with young people.
Boys and girls are welcome at the age group sessions, and we also run a girls-only training session on Friday evenings for Years 3 to 10.
The club has been based at Ridge Meadow, on the downs above Hambledon Village for many years. This is our main home, but we also have the use of Broadhalfpenny Down. We play some junior matches there, so we are not putting too much strain on the wickets at Ridge Meadow.
The club has achieved ECB Clubmark accreditation. ECB Clubmark is the ECB’s club accreditation scheme for cricket clubs with junior sections. Clubs are required to meet minimum standards across four key areas: Duty of Care and Safeguarding Children; the Cricket Programme; knowing your club; and Club Management. Achieving ECB Clubmark accreditation is an acknowledgement that we take these issues seriously and that we are striving to provide a high quality and welcoming environment for young participants in cricket.
We also value the support of parents both at training and during matches, and are keen to involve parents in the running of the club.
