U13s edge to win over Sarisbury

Guy Mullins starred as Hambledon under-13s claimed a narrow victory over Sarisbury.

Sarisbury decided to bat and made steady progress to make 91 for three in their 20 overs, with the Sarisbury youngster Jamie Dunn making 30 retired.

The young Dons kept the run-rate below par towards the end to make the total something obtainable and the pick of the bowlers was Mullins, who took two seven off four overs. Meanwhile, Seb Byers had a good time in the field with three catches.

In response, Hambledon's top order all made good starts but all failed to take control of the innings and they lost wickets at critical times leaving the untested middle order to deliver the victory.

And the combination of Mullins, Thomas Coyle and Archie Philips did just that - seeing the Dons home with four balls to spare.
