Skipper adds gloss as Dons go top

Hambledon B stormed to the top of South East Hampshire Indoor League division four with an 81-run win over Knowle Village.

And skipper Mark Le-Clercq added the gloss to the convincing triumph when he took the final three wickets to complete his first-ever indoor hat-trick.

Batting first, the Dons lost Will Mann without scoring before Will Bond (46), Spencer Le-Clercq (31 not out), Kyle Shinn (30) and Lewis Le-Clercq (23) fired them to a superb 151 for five.

Knowle Village began their reply well - moving to 50 without loss after five overs.

However, they soon capitulated to 70 all out with Shinn grabbing two wickets before the skipper weighed in with four for 18.

Mark Le-Clercq mopped up the innings in style, much to the delight of the large number of travelling Dons fans.

Victory in Hambledon's finally match against Portchester will confirm promotion to division three.
