Three and easy for Under 13s

Hambledon under-13s made it three wins from three as they completed the season with a comprehensive victory over Fareham & Crofton.

Put into bat by their understrength rivals, the young Dons were quickly in trouble with the loss of opener Seb Byers.

However, the innings recovered quickly and maintained a high run-rate to post a total of 161 for five.

Jack Thistlethwayte hit an unbeaten 33 in 13 balls, Finlay Rockett contributed 31 not out and Harry Thistlethwayte 27.

Fareham were rocking early in their reply as Rockett removed opener Will Raymond in his first over.

And at the end of his second over, Fareham were one for four - with Rockett bagging two further wickets and Jack Thistlethwayte the other.

The innings never recovered, with Fareham being bowled out for 21 as Alec Younger picked up two wicket-maidens.

The win followed two comprehensive victories - over Portsmouth and Purbrook respectively - and positions the young Dons at the top of the SEHCA U13 A League as the season comes to a close.
