Third team up to second

Hambledon's third team got back to winning ways with a comfortable victory over Hollybank.

The Dons strengthened their promotion push, as they moved second in the Hampshire League regional division three south east table with a fourth win in five matches.

Winning the toss, Hambledon skipper Martyn Shinn had no hesitation in inserting Hollybank on a wet, green wicket.

Hollybank managed to post a very competitive 184 all out, with Daniel Franks grabbing two wickets, Ed Thistlethwayte picking up three and George Harding two.

There was also an enteratining two-wicket haul from Matt radford, which included a spectacular flying caught and bowled off the last ball of the innings.

Hambledon then chased down their target losing only four wickets to pocket maximum points.

The triumphant chase was largely thanks to a superb partnership of 123 between Matt Radford (76) and Ed Thistlethwayte (49).

Tom Gwyther (22 not out) and Ollie Atkinson (six not out) then batted sensibly to see Hambledon home with seven balls to spare.
