Young guns remain unbeaten

Hambledon under-15s A defended their unbeaten record with victory over Sarisbury on Friday.

However, the visitors were given a serious scare when they were struggling at five for four and 17 for five on a damp Allotment Road wicket.

Hew Richards, aged 14, and Jack Thistlethwayte, 12, came to the rescue - putting on 86 for the sixth wicket before the former fell in the penultimate over for 44.

Thistlethwayte ended unbeaten on 43 before the Dons bowled their hosts out for 67 to record a 51-run win.

Eight of the wickets were clean bowled and pick of the bowlers were Tom Gwyther (three for 14), George Harding (two for seven) and man-of-the-match Thistlethwayte (two for six).
