Hambledon went down to a narrow defeat at the hands of Rowledge in Southern Electric Premier League division two.
Dan Hewitt's side posted an impressive 233 for four after losing the toss at School Lane.
After negotiating a tricky start, Toby De Mellow hit a patient 21 before Rob Atkins (109 not out) and Indy Chakrabarti (54) took the game by the scruff of the neck with a third-wicket stand of 132.
Late cameos from Hewitt and James Atkinson then helped Atkins push the final total up to 233 - claiming maximum batting points along the way.
Hambledon then made the perfect start to the defence of their total - Hewitt (one for 37) trapping Ricky Yates leg before wicket in his first over.
However, the Dons struggled to make further inroads as Aussie Tristen McDonald (73) and Chris Yates jnr (88 not out) added 142 for the second wicket.
The Dons briefly rallied after Atkinson (one for 21) removed McDonald, with Rhidian Chapman (one for 47) getting the better of Rowledge skipper David Lloyd.
But it wasn't to be for the visitors, who lack an extra cutting edge with the ball, as the home side overhauled the victory target in the penultimate over.
