Two out of three ain't bad

A 55 run unbeaten ninth wicket partnership laid the foundation for a second win in three matches for Hambledon II against Gosport II.

Grame King, back from watching Pompey at Wembley and still sporting his bizarre Australian accent, set the ball rolling with an impressive 62.

But, as wickets tumbled, it was left to Matt Radford (44no) and Chris Bird (23no) to lift the Dons to 218-8 in their 45 overs.

Two quick wickets from Peter Fowler rocked Gosport but two strong partnerships kept the visitors in the game until Will Mann (2-35), ageing all-rounder Mark Le Clercq (2-28) and Fowler (3-34) bowled Gosport out for 200 with five overs remaining.
