Hambledon wrapped up the South Hants Indoor League Division 2 title with a hard-fought victory over Hedge End in their final league match.
With players missing because of unavailability and a clash with matches in the Fareham league, the five-man team felt the loss of the extra player as Hedge End amassed 130-5 despite tight bowling from Rob Tusler (3-0-17) and Jamie Lewis (3-1-21).
But solid batting from Jamie Lewis (25no), Justin Waldron (25), Phil Tusler (21) and Rob Tusler (20) meant 14 runs were needed off the last over.
Luckily four wides helped Hambledon's cause as the team scrambled home with three balls left to secure eight wins out of eight and the title.
The Dons go for the league/cup double later this month when they attend finals night including a tough semi-final cup tie against division one leaders Team Solent.
