3 from 3 for U15s
Thursday evening the U15s entertained Purbrook at the Ridge and saw them win their 3rd game in row. Purbrook won the toss and elected to bat. The visitors innings started shakily, with their skipper, Louis Bartolo, caught behind by Tom Sherry off Tom Toogood. Some tight bowling from Tom and Guy had Purbrook at 24 for 1 off 7 overs. However, all didn't go smoothly as Tom Sherry injured his fingers while keeping and had to hand the gloves over to Ed Moger for the rest of the innings. Nevertheless, as the vistors looked to accelerate Ashley Crompton and Henry Glanfield picked up wickets, and at the death Archie Philips grabbed a fourth. Purbrook finishing at 97 for 4.
The young Dons started well with Tom Sherry and Henry looking in good form. Unfortunately, the run out of Tom saw the end of the partnership. What followed was a mini collapse with Chris Pratt and Tom Bloomer (on his birthday) not bothering scorers. However, Henry continued his good form retiring on 38 (7 fours) and a fruitful partnership between Ed Moger (21) and Tom Toogood (17) seeing the Dons to the target with 4 overs to spare. Not the best performance in the field, but none the less another win.
Thanks to Pippa for scoring and parents for providing the match tea and running the bar.
