2nd win for U15s
Sunday morning saw the U15s take on Sarisbury at Allotment Road. Winning the toss and deciding to bat, Henry Glanfield continued where he left off at Waterlooville with 33 in short time. But rather than a batting collapse of last week, Freddie Martin supported him with 35 not out retired; a very mature and measured innings. Tom Bloomer (14) and Tom Sherry (13) chipped in, with the young Dons finishing on 134 for 4 after the 20.
The Sarisbury innings started rapidly and they made runs easy to find. However, Henry struck in the 2nd and 4th overs with 2 quick deliveries to remove the openers. A farcical run out of Jack Nolan, with both batsman at the same end, plus the crucial wicket of Charlie Kirby by Freddie saw the hosts 30 for 4 after 6. The skipper realising the game was up rotated his bowlers, who all responded brilliantly, with Ashely Crompton bagging a brace, plus wickets for Matt Price and Archie Philips. However, the best moment of the game was a wicket for U13 Fraser MacKenzie, taking out the off stump of the Sarisbury no. 5. Sarisbury finishing 56 all out.
