Dons put Portsmouth to the sword

Hambledon under-13s delivered a stunning 57-run triumph over Portsmouth to record a second-consecutive win.

The Dons batsmen were in fantastic form as they racked up 177 for the loss of just two wickets.

Each of the top four batsman retired, with Tom Toogood notching 28, Seb Byers 30, Ollie Southon 25 and indoor debutant Harry Thistlethwayte 27.

After the break, Portsmouth got off to a poor start as Toogood completed a sharp run out with the second ball.

Southon continued his fine form with the ball by removing the other opener before Byers was responsible for the next three wickets.

The first was clean bowled, the second came courtesy of a sharp catch by keeper Tom Sherry and the third by way of a run out.

Portsmouth ultimately closed on 120 for five, 57 runs short of Hambledon's mammoth total.
