Hambledon crush Paultons

A superb all-round performance from Dan Hewitt inspired Hambledon to victory over Paultons in Southern Electric Premier League division two on Saturday.

Hewitt took four for 16 as the visitors were skittled for just 86 at Ridge Meadow.

The skipper's new-ball partner Cameron Prentice returned superb figures of two for 18, while Kyle Shinn continued his fine start at Southern Electric Premier League level with two for nine from his seven-over spell.

After tea, Hambledon began their run chase nervously and quickly slipped to 10 for three.

Hewitt joined Rob Atkins (32) to start the rebuilding mission and, when the captain departed for 23, his Dons were well on their way to success.

James Atkinson ultimately struck the winning runs to complete a five-wicket victory for the home side.
