Seconds bounce back to form

Hambledon's second string bounced back to winning ways with a 55-run triumph over Pylewell Park.

The Don's emerged victorious from the rain-affected Hampshire League division four south encounter thanks largely to a career-best knock from Owain Chapman.

Chapman struck a brilliant unbeaten 91 as the home side racked up 240 for four against the disillusioned visitors - who arrived with eight men, no umpire and no scorer.

Jamie Lewis added a fine 52 to ensured Hambledon posted a daunting total for Pylewell Park to chase after the break.

An hour-long rain delay extended that interveal but when the two sides returned - with the visitors set a revised 166 from 25 overs - the Dons were in no mood to let their advantage slip.

Park could only muster 111 for six as Kyle Shinn (three for 29) and Mark Davison (two for six) helped ensure Hambledon returned to form.
