Harding heroics fire Hambledon III

George Harding took his second five-wicket haul of the season as Hambledon III further underlined their promotion potential on Saturday.

Martyn Shinn's side moved into second spot in the Hampshire League regional division three south east table as they defeated United Services III by eight wickets at Broadhalfpenny Down.

Harding took five for 15 in his eight overs after Shinn won the toss and elected to field against the Portsmouth-based visitors.

Services looked well-placed at 95 for one before the young off-spinner was introduced - but they soon slumped to 124 all out.

In reply, Hambledon III batted comfortably to reach their target for the loss of just two wickets in 26.2 overs.

Sam Jackson led the way with a very mature 48 not out, while Jon Bridgman notched an unbeaten 38.
