Thistlethwayte and Phillips set up win

Hambledon under-13s are celebrating a comfortable 40-run triumph over struggling Sarisbury in South East Hants Indoor League.

After a middle order wobble - which saw the young Dons stumble to 51 for four - Jack Thistlethwayte (33) and Sam Phillips (24) got the innings back on track.

Thistlewayte struck 33 and Phillips hit 24 to fire Hambledon up to an impressive 122 in their 12 overs.

In reply, Sarisbury nevered looked capable of reaching the target, despite Hambledon giving away 38 extras.

Finlay Rockett initially struggled with his line but recovered well to post some good figures.

However, the pick of the bowlers were Tom Toogood with two for nine of two overs and Thistlethwayte with one for 17 off three.

Freddie Martin also produced a very credible performance with the ball in his indoor debut.

The win sets the boys up well for a tough match with the table toppers, Havant, in three weeks.
