Double delight for title hopefuls

Hambledon maintained their push for the NatWest Under-16 Indoor League title at the Rose Bowl with a convincing double over Alton and Havant.

Eddie Lewis led the way with an unbeaten 41 as the Dons racked up 162 for five against the former, who could only muster 78 for three in reply.

The young right-hander also retired against Havant - unbeaten on 27 - as the Dons thrashed their neighbours by 52 runs.

JJ Brown was dismissed for 29 in the first match but finished 26 not out in the second, where Rory Prentice also finished unbeaten on 27.

The duo then took two wickets apiece to dismiss Havant for just 89.
