Teenage trio continue to impress

Hambledon's talented teenage trio - Chris Stone, Rob Gibson and Ollie Mills - continue to shine on the representative stage.

In his last six games for the Hampshire Academy, Stoner has developed into an accomplished all-rounder with five stand out performances with both bat and ball.

A top-score of 76 which saw him put in a match-winning performance to help his side beat Bournemouth followed two previous innings-leading knocks of 51 and 43 against Alton and Havant.

In between, Stoner's beguiling off-spin saw him pick up a five wicket haul against Totton & Ealing and four wickets against South Wilts.

Not to be outdone, talented all-rounder Rob Gibson has become the Academy's leading run-scorer in Southern Electric Premier Division One with a series of accomplished innings.

And while Ollie Mills has been helping Hambledon maintain their division two status with a number of useful knocks, he has also teamed up with young Gibbo to help Hampshire U17s reach the final of the ECB national U17 county cup.

Ollie top scored with 31 as Hampshire overcame a strong Surrey side to reach the final on Sep 4 at Kibworth, Leics, against either Durham or Shropshire.

The club looks forward to the day when all three will be available for Hambledon's 1st XI and help them reach their goal of reaching division one and glory in the national village knockout cup - if they don't play for Hampshire first of course.

Not to be outdone, 13-year-old JJ Brown proved there is even more talent in depth at the club as he scored a massive unbeaten 136 for Hambledon's 3rd XI against Sarisbury Athletics on Saturday.
