Dons go down against Hook

At a very cold and bleak Ridge Meadow, the Dons lost in a hard fought game against table toppers Hook & Newnham Basics.

Having lost the toss and been asked to bat, Hambledon made a steady start before James Scutt was dismissed for 26. All the batters made starts without going on to make big score but a final total of 210-9 looked competitive.

In reply Hook were in huge trouble at 38-4 after a magnificent early burst from Dan Hewitt (3-32) but Hook recovered and won in fine fine style thanks to a superb 111* from Sri Lankan Ratnayake who saw the visitors home with 3 wickets and 4 overs to spare.
