Hambledon II climbed up to fourth place in Hampshire division four south after an emphatic win in a high-scoring game against Michelmersh & Timsbury at Ridge Meadow.
Rob Atkins dropped down from the first team in order to catch an early evening ferry crossing to France for a mid-season holiday.
And the move paid off as Rob struck an unbeaten 148 and enjoyed a 153-run opening partnership with Graeme King (68) as the Dons piled on the runs.
Evergreen Mark Le Clercq also hit a quickfire 41 as Hambledon reached 309-3 in their 45 overs.
Not to be outdone, Michelmersh & Timsbury smashed 37 off the first three overs in reply and Paul Hurle struck 100.
But Peter Fowler (3-53) pegged the visitors back and Atkins even had time to take 1-18 off seven overs as they eventually finished on 259-8.
