With the league season wrapping up (still one game to play for the 1st XI), the 2nds have secured a comfortable mid-table position after a late rally in performance, seeing them win 4 of their last 5 fixtures.
The 3rd XI, however, have not been so fortunate. Agonisingly tied on points with US Portsmouth, a lower number of wins leaves them facing relegation to Regional Division 2 South.
As for the 1st XI, it’s still all to play for, with promotion very much a possibility. The Dons will need a near-maximum point win over Paultons on Saturday, and hope that Tichborne Park lose to Trojans. If Hambledon outscore Tichborne by 15 points or more, we will move to second in the league. So, if you’re not playing on Saturday, come along and support your Dons!
