U15 winning run ends

U15 v Old Netley

The U15s crashed to there first defeat of the season on Monday evening. Winning the toss and electing to bat, the young Dons were soon in big trouble losing their openers for little on the board. Then two further quick wickets had the 15's at 18 for 4 off 7 overs, so making 50 was looking tricky. Thankfully a 27 fifth wicket partnership between Chris Pratt and Tom Bloomer recovered the situation, Chris going on to make 38 retired. A guest appearance from Josh Wise (10) and Guy Mullins (16) added some late runs to make a respectable 87 for 9 in the 20 overs.

The Netley innings started cautiously with some tight bowling from Tom Toogood and Guy, but in didn't last as the Don's attack bowled too short and the Netley openers made the it look easy with both retiring. The hosts reached what was obviously a low total in only 12 overs. Tom being the pick of the bowlers and Josh doing very well given how little cricket he had played. Not a great performance. Thanks to Pippa for scoring.
