Young Dons in second consecutive win

Hambledon under-13 A team made it two wins from two games with a comprehensive triumph over Petersfield.

Jack Thistlethwayte and Henry Glanfield piled on the runs after the Dons were asked to bat on a damp wicket.

They scored 72 off the first six overs and both retired on 30.

But this only brought Freddie Martin to the wicket and he continued the run feast, again retiring on 30.

The young Dons finished on 172 for four after their 20 overs, with the other notable contribution from Tom Toogood with 21.

In response, Petersfield's openers started well - both making 22 - but their dismissals saw the end of any run-chase for the hosts.

Thistlethwayte produced an interesting variety of spin to take three for 16, while the other bowling performance of note came from Matthew Price, who took one for three off two overs.

Toogood produced another good performance in the field with two catches and a run out.

Petersfield finished on 81 for eight.
