Hambledon suffer first home defeat

Hambledon suffered their first home defeat of the Southern Electric Premier League division two season at the hands of Burridge on Saturday.

After a superb bowling display saw the visitors knocked over for 123, the Dons were well placed to complete a third consecutive home triumph.

However, the home side struggled in the face of some disciplined bowling and in the end fell to a narrow seven-run defeat.

Nick McMurray (four for 31) and Paul Ancell (four for 14) were the chief destroyers for Burridge as Rob Atkins, who finished unbeaten on 46, failed to see the Dons home.
