Ridge talents continue fine start

Hambledon under-15s A continued their impressive start to the rain-interrupted season with a comprehensive victory over Purbrook at Ridge Meadow.

Batting first the young Dons scored 130 for nine, with Rory Prentice (50) and Ollie Atkinson (35) making the major contributions.

In reply, Purbrook could only manage 64 for six in their 20 overs as Hambledon claimed a 66-run triumph.

George Harding was the pick of the bowlers, with Hew Richards, Daniel Franks and JJ Brown all bowling economically.

In their first match, the Dons brushed aside Locks Heath after scoring an impressive 192 - with both Eddie Lewis and Jack Dyer retiring on 50.

The bowlers then skittled Locks Heath for 42, securing maximum batting and bowling points.

There was an impressive start for under-13 Finlay Rockett in the older age group as he secured two wickets.
