Lewis and Brown fire young Dons

Hambledon under-16s crushed Sarisbury to strengthen their claims for the South East Hants Indoor League crown.

Eddie Lewis and Joseph Brown spearheaded the charge at Fareham Leisure Centre on Sunday.

The opening batsmen both notched 26 not out to get Hambledon off to the best possible start with the bat.

Jack Dyer (16), Tom Gwyther (16) and Rory Prentice (10) all chipped in as the young Dons posted 140 for four from their 12 overs.

George Harding then starred with the ball, taking two for 23 to restrict the Sarisbury reply.

And with Prentice and Gwyther also bagging a wicket apiece - and Lewis two stumpings - Hambledon ran out 35-run winners.

The under-16s are now eight points clear at the top of the table and boast the only 100-per-cent record after five fixtures.
