Hambledon B fell 24 runs short of victory in their latest match at the Fareham Leisure Centre.
Playing league leaders Sarisbury Athletic, the Dons lost the toss and could only restrict their rivals to 154 for two.
The B team missed numerous run out oppurtunities as the first four Athletic batters all retired.
In reply the young Dons team slipped to 10 for two after losing JJ Brown for a duck and experienced captain Mark Le-Clercq (7).
They staged an excellent recovery to finish on 130 for five, with Dom Humphrey top scoring with 41 not out and Kyle Shinn 26, Spencer Le-Clercq 24 and Rory Prentice 13 offering good support.
