Rob Atkins struck an undefeated 115 – but the Dons' 283-5 was only just enough to see off a determined Rowledge challenge in a Ridge Meadow run fest. Atkins who lost openers James Scutt and Jack Lavous to Richard Forbes (3-27), hit a six and 13 fours. He shared important stands with Dan Hewitt (69) and David Williams (44) before the Dons closed at 283-5 in 50 overs.
Rowledge lost Gary Clapham early on, but gave chase, with Nick Morrant (55) hitting a half-century before they closed 17 runs adrift at 266-8 with Rupert Hetherington (3-28) the pick of the bowlers.
The result sees Hambledon move to 3rd place in SPL 2.
