Australian David Williams applied the long handle to hit Hambledon out of trouble and lay the foundations for a 31-run win over Fair Oak at Ridge Meadow.
Overs were running out when Hambledon dropped from 66-1 to 99-6, but Williams hit 39* in 17 balls including 4 huge sixes to help post 144-8. Fair Oak lost Andy Sturman first ball and generally tried to go for the big hit as opposed to working the ball around the field. They fell 31 runs short.
Hambledon 144-8 (Williams 39, Stone 31, Mills 24)
Fair Oak 113-9 (R Featherstone 23, Gibson 3-21)
Hambledon won by 31 runs.
