Hambledon's academy indoor team made it seven wins out of seven last night to extend their lead at the top of the South Hampshire League Division 2 at Fleming Park, Eastleigh.
First up was an accomplished victory over RAMS, a team mainly made up of the Southampton Community team who won promotion from Hampshire Div 4 last season, including a win over Hambledon 2nd XI.
Jack Lavous (29no) and Nick Scutt (27no) provided the backbone while aged captain Phil Tusler (17no) helped add 40 off the last two overs to set a target of 133-3.
RAMS started well in reply but two wickets from Cam Prentice and two run outs halted the run chase as RAMS finished on 107-5.
In the second match against Sarisbury, Chris Stone (29), Cam Prentice (26) and Nick Scutt (25) kept the scoreboard ticking over while Tusler senior (18no) and Tusler junior (7no) added 36 off the last two overs to reach 154-1.
Sarisbury never threatened in reply as Jack Lavous, Stone, Rob Tusler and even Tusler senior picked up a wicket apiece to bowl Sarisbury out for 88.
Hambledon now play Hew Bees in the first round of the South Hampshire Indoor Cup this Sunday Feb 7 at 6.15pm.
