We are pleased to announce that after a damp but very successful tour this year, Hambledon CC are returning to Devon in 2024. The tour is planned for the end of July/first week in August with fixtures already arranged for 29th, 30th and 31st July, and 1st August. The tour will not conflict with the regular Hambledon league matches on the Saturdays before and after.
Accommodation is booked nearby at Lane Barton Leisure barn in Woolfardisworthy (Woolsery) near Bideford. The barn sleeps 32 in pods of up to 4 people with en-suite showers for each pod and is booked for our exclusive use.
With four fixtures and a large accommodation base we are again hoping to make it a whole club tour with players of all ages from the adult teams welcome to attend as well as family and supporters. Players under 18 would need to be accompanied by a responsible adult. As far as players are concerned the ideal number would be 15/16 so that everyone plays at least three matches, but there are more potential fixtures in the pipeline so we may be able to take more. The attitude is the more the merrier whilst ensuring that weather permitting everyone has the chance to play 3 matches.
We have similar opposition at excellent grounds and maybe a new fixture as well.
To confirm both the fixtures and the accommodation we need a deposit from all those who would like to attend. We are expecting the cost of tour including accommodation, pitch fees and teas to come to approximately £120 and therefore are proposing an initial payment of £50 with the balance to be paid after Christmas, when we are clearer on numbers and final costs.
