Hambledon Youth

Hambledon Cricket Club provides cricket coaching for boys and girls aged between 6 and 18 years. We also give them the opportunity to represent the club in competitive cricket matches in the South East Hants Cricket League. All coaching is undertaken by qualified coaches who have been DBS checked to ensure their suitability for working with young people.

Boys and girls are welcome at the age group sessions, and for the second year we will also be running a girls-only training session on a Friday evening for Years 3 to 9. This year, we will also offer some Friendlies against other clubs to the Under 16 age group.

The club has been based at Ridge Meadow, on the downs above Hambledon Village for many years. This is our main home, but from this year on, we also have the use of Broadhalfpenny Down. We look forward to having some junior matches there this summer, so we are not putting too much strain on the wickets at Ridge Meadow.

The club has achieved ECB Clubmark accreditation. ECB Clubmark is the ECB’s club accreditation scheme for cricket clubs with junior sections. Clubs are required to meet minimum standards across four key areas: Duty of Care and Safeguarding Children; the Cricket Programme the club offers; knowing your club; and Club Management. Achieving ECB Clubmark accreditation is an acknowledgement that we take these issues seriously and that we are striving to provide a high quality and welcoming environment for young participants in cricket.
